1. Overview

AutoForge ("the Service") is an AI-powered chat co-pilot that generates context-aware messages for streaming platforms including Joystick, Twitch, and Kick. To provide this functionality, the Service processes real-time stream data including audio, visual content, chat logs, and platform metadata. This Privacy Policy describes how that data is handled.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

• Streaming platform credentials: OAuth tokens from Joystick, Twitch, or Kick used to read and send chat messages on your behalf
• AI provider API keys: Keys for Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, OpenRouter, and/or Deepgram that you configure in the app's Settings panel
• Configuration preferences: Tuning settings such as humor level, chaos level, emote density, persona, message length, and autonomous mode preferences
• Pinned Memories and Golden Memory: Custom context anchors you create to guide AI-generated content

2.2 Data Processed Automatically

• Audio transcription data: Live audio from your stream transcribed via Deepgram WebSocket or local Whisper (transformers.js) models
• Visual capture data: Screen capture snapshots taken as visual context for AI message generation
• Chat log data: Recent chat messages from your connected streaming platform (last ~50 messages retained in memory)
• Stream metadata: Channel name, stream title, category, viewer count, and other publicly available stream information
• Usage data: Messages sent count, AutoForge decision logs, and activity level metrics displayed in the HUD

2.3 Data We Do Not Collect

AutoForge does not collect or store:

• Your streaming platform passwords (authentication uses OAuth tokens only)
• Personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary for platform authentication
• Browsing history, device fingerprints, or cross-site tracking data
• Payment or billing information (the Service is currently free)

3. How Data Is Stored

3.1 Local Storage

All credentials, API keys, configuration preferences, pinned memories, and usage state are stored locally in your browser using Zustand's persistence layer (localStorage). This data never leaves your device unless explicitly sent to a third-party AI provider for message generation.

3.2 No Central Database

AutoForge does not operate a central user database. We do not have servers that store your stream data, transcripts, chat logs, or generated messages. Your data lives on your machine.

4. How Data Is Used

Data processed by AutoForge is used solely for the following purposes:

• Message generation: Audio, visual, chat, and metadata are combined into prompts sent to your configured AI provider to generate context-aware chat messages
• Autonomous decision-making: Chat velocity, activity spikes, and mention detection are used to determine when AutoForge should send a message
• App functionality: Configuration and memory data are used to personalize tone, persona, and context for generated messages
• Transparency: Decision logs and activity metrics are displayed in the HUD so you can monitor what the Service is doing

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

When AutoForge generates a message, the following data may be sent to third-party AI providers as part of the prompt:

• Recent audio transcript text
• Visual snapshot images (when visual context is enabled)
• Recent chat messages
• Stream metadata (title, category, etc.)
• Your pinned memories and configuration preferences

This data is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you have configured. AutoForge does not intercept, log, or store this data on any intermediary server. Each AI provider's handling of this data is governed by their respective privacy policies:

Additionally, authentication tokens are exchanged with Joystick, Twitch, and Kick APIs according to their respective privacy policies.

6. Audio & Visual Data

6.1 Audio Transcription

Audio from your stream is captured using the browser's media APIs and transcribed in real time. When using Deepgram, audio is streamed to Deepgram's servers for transcription. When using local Whisper (transformers.js), audio is processed entirely on your device and never sent to a remote server.

6.2 Visual Capture

Screen capture snapshots are taken using the browser's screen capture API. These snapshots are sent to your configured AI provider as visual context. Snapshots are not stored persistently — they are kept in memory only for the duration needed to generate a message.

7. Data Retention

• Chat logs: Only the last ~50 messages are retained in memory and are cleared when the app is closed or refreshed
• Audio transcripts: Retained in memory only for the current session; not persisted to disk
• Visual snapshots: Held in memory temporarily; not persisted
• Configuration & memories: Persisted in localStorage until you clear them or reset the app
• Credentials & API keys: Persisted in localStorage until you remove them or clear browser data
• Third-party providers: Data sent to AI providers is subject to their respective retention policies

8. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: View all locally stored data through your browser's developer tools or the app's Settings panel
• Delete: Clear all stored data by removing API keys in Settings, clearing pinned memories, or clearing your browser's localStorage
• Disable features: Turn off audio transcription, visual capture, or autonomous mode at any time from the app interface
• Disconnect: Revoke OAuth access from your streaming platform's account settings at any time
• Opt out of AI providers: Switch to local Whisper for transcription to avoid sending audio to Deepgram, or disable visual context to avoid sending screenshots to AI providers

9. Security

AutoForge takes reasonable measures to protect your data. Credentials and API keys are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to AutoForge-operated servers. Communication with third-party APIs uses HTTPS encryption. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your browser and device from unauthorized access.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Cookies

AutoForge does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. The Service uses browser localStorage to persist configuration, credentials, and app state. This data is first-party only and is not shared with advertisers or third-party analytics services.

12. International Users

If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where AI providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

13. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), respectively, including the right to access, delete, and port your personal data. Since AutoForge stores all data locally in your browser, you can exercise these rights directly by clearing your browser data. For any data held by third-party AI providers, please contact those providers directly.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
